Thank you to all the 2014 XTERRA TRI the Torture competitors and sponsors!

Great work on a tough course! The CORE Crew and Glorieta Camps feel that the race was a great success for a first year event. We have had our post race meeting and discussed what went well and what we could improve upon. We also have reviewed the surveys you completed and the insightful responses will help us make next years race even better. We are already in the preliminary planning stages for next years bigger and better 2nd Annual XTERRA TRI the Torture. The proceeds from this years event allowed us to make donations to the Santa Fe Conservation Trust, Santa Fe Fat Tire Society and the Trail Scholarship Fund at Glorieta Camps as our CORE Crew mission is to support local nonprofits while continuing to produce high quality off-road sporting events.

We can’t wait to see you next year ay the 2nd Annual XTERRA TRI the Torture.

07.28.2014 :: XTERRA TRI the Torture Update!

Core Crew :: XTERRA Tri The Torture Update

XTERRA TRI the Torture is only two weeks away!! We want to give you a short update about the event.

The water temperature over the last couple weeks has been wetsuit legal; we will of course check again the morning of the race, but ex-pect that wetsuits will be OK! However, if you don’t have a wetsuit it is a comfortable swim. The swim will be two laps for a total length of one half mile. It will be technical swim in that the course will weave around but will be well marked with buoys! There may be wave starts depend-ing on the final number of entrants.

  • The bike will be two laps of 6.75 miles each with choppy ups and downs, different surfaces a couple of short technical sections with the total climb being 1500 feet for a total of 13.5 miles.
  • The run will consist of old jeep roads, short paved sections and a sec-tion of no trail and only flagging. The total length is 4.75 miles with about 800 feet of climbing.
  • Remember there will be a wet finish so be prepared! Make sure to bring family and friends as the water-park will be open after the racers are out of the water. There are several great places for spectators to watch the race. Entry to Glorieta Camps is free to family and friends. Glorieta Camps will be cooking lunch, burgers, veggie burgers, after-wards for $7.00 so bring your appetite and hang around for the awards! Hopefully we will be able to provide beer, stay tuned.
