Crazy Off-road Racing Enthusiast Crew
The Core Crew is a all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is committed to producing high-quality off-road sporting events in the Santa Fe area and has been doing so since 2006. Our secondary goal is to raise money for trail construction and maintenance as well as providing people of all fitness levels the opportunity to challenge themselves with outdoor sporting events thus helping maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The Core Crew has raised and donated more than $195,695.00 to local, state and national organizations since 2006. Some of the beneficiaries of these funds include Santa Fe Conservation Trust, Atalaya Search and Rescue, St Vincent Hospital Foundation, Santa Fe Fat Tire Society, New Mexico Bicycle Coalition, Glorieta Camps, Chain Breakers Collective, FORE Kids Foundation, Trails Alliance, The Green Beret Foundation, Commonweal Conservancy, Nina Otero Community School Activity Fund , FB4K-NM, Nina Otero School Cycle Program, Santa Fe Public Library Summer Reading Program , Bel Air Elementary School and The Earl Gage Fund.
The Core Crew can't do this alone and several local and national sponsors help out. CORE CREW BIO'S
Kari Wilner: Kari is a CORE Crew member presently living in Austin, TX. She continues to help from afar. She is a triathlete and personal trainer.
Brent Bonwell: Brent is a long time bike event organizer, he was the event director for the first two years of The Santa Fe Century. He is active with the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society riding and doing trail maintenance. He works as a software support engineer for a local software company.
Patti Jenkins: Loves biking of all kinds in the dirt!
Anne Marie Peck: Anne Marie is a student a certified Spin Instructor and a triathlete/mountain biker.
Sue McKelvey: Sue rediscovered her love of mountain biking in 2018 after a 25 year hiatus and is exceedingly grateful for the trails and people she has met ever since. When not riding or hiking in the mountains with her dog, she is working at her business as a Veterinary Rehab Therapist. The best thing she has ever done is raise two amazing children.
Kim Bear: Kim is a nurse practitioner and exercise enthusiast living in New Mexico since 1974. She loves to race and is passionate about fitness and New Mexico.
Jan Bear: Jan is a native Santa Fean interested in promoting our community and a healthy lifestyle.
Tina Lanman: Tina has recently become a retired empty nester. Yahoo! In addition to loving the outdoors and country life she plays badminton, hikes, bikes, Core-Crew volunteer and does trail work for all factions in and around Santa Fe.
Henry Lanman: Henry is a retired Fire Captain and avid mountain biker. He is involved in development and maintenance of trails in the Santa Fe area and a member of the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society and Trails Alliance of Santa Fe.
Dean Fry: Dean moved to Santa Fe in 2012 and is a long time mountain biker, since 1989. He is active in the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society and involved in trail development and maintenance in the Santa Fe area.
Tom Egelhoff: Tom moved to Santa Fe in 2002 and is the Director of Agronomy at the Club at Las Campanas. Tom cycling interests span everything from road and cyclo-cross to mountain biking but he is primary a road cyclist. He is also active with promoting the Las Campanas Classic and is an active member with the Bike N Sport Racing Team.
Tom Egan: After 30+ yrs of school and work in Houston, decided it was time to leave. Both my wife and I had early ties to NM so we loaded up the truck and moved to Santa Fe in 2017. Always impressed with the high caliber of athletes in the area and look forward to watching them compete in the Core-Crew series of racing events.
Phil Tabuas: Phil is a relative newcomer to Santa Fe. He traded the East Coast and his surfboards for the high desert and a hardtail mountain bike. Phil has since fallen for the trails and community that encompass the local mountain bike scene and looks forward to helping sustain its growth.
Mike Mangan: Mike has been living in New Mexico since 2001, currently in Corrales, NM. He is a mountain biker and a runner who enjoys the sense of exhilaration when traveling on new trails.
